Why a metals business makes better silver objects
We refine the metal ourselves before it is cast. We weigh and X-ray verify it afterwards. Purity is not something we take a supplier's word for, because we do that part.
It also means the buy-back is real rather than a marketing device. We buy silver every day at a counter; buying back a piece we made is the same transaction.
The one-of-one rule, and why we hold it
We cast a custom design once and retire it. Not a limited edition, not a numbered run — one.
It would be easy and profitable to quietly re-run a design that sold well. We do not, and the claim is worthless the first time we do. If a piece is in our catalogue and cast more than once, we will not call it one-of-one, because that would make the phrase meaningless everywhere else.
What we will tell you honestly
That your idea will not cast. That your photographs are not enough for a memorial piece. That the deadline is not achievable. That a smaller piece will get you more design for the money. That this is not an investment.
Custom work goes wrong when nobody says the awkward thing early, and by then it is solid silver.
